Resumen de la comunidad
Texto original · InglésA top-down, procedurally generated action roguelite/immersive-sim hybrid by Matt Dabrowski (published by tinyBuild) where you pick from 20+ wildly different character classes and complete city-block missions by fighting, sneaking, hacking, bribing or causing chaos.
Texto original · InglésStreets of Rogue is a player-beloved cult hit: Steam shows 'Overwhelmingly Positive' at about 96% of roughly 23,100 reviews, with sandbox freedom, character variety and co-op chaos cited over and over. Critics were also favourable but the critic sample is small (Metacritic lists 82 on Xbox One from 5 reviews and 75 on Switch from 4; PC Gamer gave 84). The game spent roughly two years in Early Access from 2017 and reached 1.0 on 12 July 2019 on PC, then Switch, PS4 and Xbox One. Criticism clusters around clunky melee and gun aim, RNG and unfair late-floor modifiers, weak build synergy compared with deeper roguelites, and a solo experience that some find repetitive. A sequel, Streets of Rogue 2, is still listed as 'coming soon' on Steam with no release date, and much of the recent review traffic is fans waiting for it.
Lo que elogian los jugadores
- Texto original · InglésHuge sandbox freedom: every mission has many solutions (stealth, hacking, bribery, violence, distraction, using gang rivalries) and the game lets you pick your own approach
- Texto original · Inglés20+ character classes that change how the game plays (cop gets XP for arrests, zombie turns kills into zombies, shapeshifter possesses NPCs, gorilla, scientist, politician, etc.), driving replayability
- Texto original · InglésEmergent chaos from interacting systems: rival gangs, scientists vs gorillas, explosions, fridges and generators as weapons, NPCs reacting to each other and to you
- Texto original · InglésExcellent co-op (local and online up to 4 players); widely described as better with friends
- Texto original · InglésHumour and tone: absurd gags and parody factions are frequently called out by reviewers and players
- Texto original · InglésStrong long-term content: big quests, mutators, DLC characters, Steam Workshop support, sandbox/custom levels and characters (one reviewer logged thousands of hours)
- Texto original · InglésResponsive developer and unlocks earned in play rather than paywalled (Steam and Metacritic user reviews)
- Texto original · InglésMusic praised as fitting, though some want more tracks
Lo que critican los jugadores
- Texto original · InglésClunky combat: melee described as flailing, gun shots sometimes lock onto unintended targets, and knockback when shot from several directions can be deadly
- Texto original · InglésRNG-driven deaths: bad trait offers, unlucky items or a random NPC fight can end multi-hour runs
- Texto original · InglésLate-floor modifiers (falling bombs, spreading goo, everyone armed with rocket launchers) are seen by some as unfair rather than fun
- Texto original · InglésHeavy menuing to interact with things, and stealth and combat feel stiff to some players
- Texto original · InglésLimited build depth/synergy compared with Gungeon-style roguelites, per a co-op reviewer
- Texto original · InglésTechnical gripes: Switch version lag (Metacritic user), Steam Deck unplayable per top negative review (controller inputs not recognised, sub-20 fps docked), occasional save-data loss and online multiplayer breakage reported in negative Steam reviews
- Texto original · InglésThin narrative; one player wanted story between levels and critics noted an abrupt, anticlimactic ending (DarkStation)
Características distintivas
- Texto original · InglésRoguelite structure (procedural floors, permadeath, unlocks) fused with immersive-sim style problem solving, often pitched as Nuclear Throne meets Deus Ex with GTA anarchy
- Texto original · InglésClass-specific playstyles, objectives and roleplay hooks, so the 'who am I and why am I here' feel changes each run
- Texto original · InglésLiving simulated city where factions and NPCs fight each other independent of the player
- Texto original · InglésArcade-GTA-like top-down view with procedural city blocks, with a custom level, character and sandbox toolset
- Texto original · InglésDrop-in local and online co-op and PvP in a game that otherwise feels like a solo sandbox
Opiniones divididas
- Texto original · InglésChaos vs fairness: fans love systems going haywire, detractors feel random NPC violence and modifiers make runs feel unfair
- Texto original · InglésBest with friends vs solo: co-op is widely loved while some solo reviewers find it repetitive or shallow (mixed Switch critic score of 60)
- Texto original · InglésRoguelite depth: many praise replayability via characters, others say build variety is thin
- Texto original · InglésSequel direction: Streets of Rogue 2 is more open-world, and some who tried its playtest felt it was going in a different direction
Repetición y obstáculos
- Texto original · InglésWaiting for useful traits to appear; some players feel the same weak offers recur
- Texto original · InglésLong floors, especially in co-op, where finished players idle waiting for teammates
- Texto original · InglésRepetition after the first dozen hours for players who don't chase new characters or big quests
- Texto original · InglésMenu-heavy interaction and the death-count tracker (some find it demoralising)
- Texto original · InglésHumour and writing that some find childish or annoying
Mejoras esperadas
- Texto original · InglésTighter melee and aimed-gun handling, plus less knockback chaos
- Texto original · InglésMore build variety and stronger trait/item synergies so runs feel less like the same pool of offers
- Texto original · InglésBetter balance on later floors, with fewer arbitrary run-killers and unavoidable modifiers
- Texto original · InglésFixes and support for Steam Deck, controllers and online multiplayer stability
- Texto original · InglésMore side objectives and less downtime in co-op when one player finishes early; a cleaner split-screen UI with four players
- Texto original · InglésMore narrative or structure around missions and a more satisfying ending
Texto original · InglésMetacritic figures are per platform: the headline 82 is the Xbox One Metascore from 5 critic reviews (Generacion Xbox 88; XboxAddict, DarkStation, TheXboxHub and GameSpew 80), user score 8.3 from 30 ratings; the Switch Metascore is 75 from 4 reviews. There is no PC Metascore on Steam's page. OpenCritic score could not be retrieved (web search budget was exhausted and the OpenCritic fetch returned the wrong game or no data), so it is left null. Wikipedia says the game entered Early Access in 2017 (Dabrowski began development in 2014, moving from Construct 2 to Unity) and released 1.0 on 12 July 2019. Sales: steam-revenue-calculator estimates about $3.26M gross / $0.96M net to the developer on Steam, and SteamSpy estimates 1-2M owners; these are rough Boxleiter-style estimates, not audited. Steam price is $19.99 and there is a soundtrack, a making-of and a character pack. Platform notes: Switch performance complaints, Steam Deck/controller issues per Steam reviews. Streets of Rogue 2 announced in 2020, still 'coming soon' with no date. Verification: Metacritic page re-fetched; Xbox One 82 (5 reviews), Switch 75 (4), PC and PS4 have no disclosed Metascore (5 and 3 reviews); user 8.3 from 30 ratings. The headline 82 is Xbox One only.

Texto original · InglésTier list Part 1 (2023)
Texto original · InglésStreets of Rogue (2017) is a unique roguelike where you pick from many characters and are dropped into small village-like levels full of mini quests and missions needed to reach the next area. He says each character changes play so drastically that each feels like its own game. The levels themselves are fairly repetitive and not very dense, and he worries that once every character is mastered it may get old. With about 15 hours played, he enjoys it a lot and places it around a mid B (transcript reads 'mid eight', likely 'mid B').
