Synthèse des discussions

Texte original · AnglaisA fast 2D run-and-gun roguelite platformer set inside a living comic book, where each room is a comic panel and ink is the upgrade currency; playable solo or in local/online co-op.

Texte original · AnglaisFury Unleashed is well liked but rarely treated as a genre heavyweight. Steam shows about 87% positive across roughly 2,900 reviews (Very Positive), and Metacritic critic scores sit in the high 70s (79 on PC, 76 across platforms), with user reviews and critic reviews both calling it polished, tight and cheap fun. Reviewers compare it to Contra/Metal Slug crossed with Dead Cells and Rogue Legacy, and lean on its combo system and control feel. Criticism centres on repetitive content (few level themes, samey bosses), modest meta-progression, and spongy enemies on the default Hard setting. The other recurring complaint in recent years is flaky online co-op. It is a released, non-early-access game (Steam release listed as May 8, 2020); the developer keeps an active Steam community presence (bug-report threads, Discord), but recent reviews show online co-op and platform issues (Steam Deck, Linux audio, crashes) are still open pain points. No OpenCritic page was located.

Ce que les joueurs apprécient

  • Texte original · AnglaisTight, responsive controls: dash, double jump, stomp, shoot and melee feel smooth and precise, which reviewers call the game's strongest asset
  • Texte original · AnglaisCombo/heat system rewards aggressive, damage-free play with escalating rewards such as health and shield drops, and is described as the freshest mechanic
  • Texte original · AnglaisComic-book framing: chapters are individual comics and stages are laid out as comic panels, which players find creative and cohesive
  • Texte original · AnglaisBig arsenal and many power-ups with trade-offs, giving varied runs; cited as a source of replayability, plus about 40 bosses
  • Texte original · AnglaisVery customisable: adjustable difficulty sliders, full button remapping and character/face customisation
  • Texte original · AnglaisCouch and online co-op make it far more fun with a friend, and two controllers even work in single-player for a silly shared-character mode
  • Texte original · AnglaisGreat value: often heavily discounted, with many reviewers saying it is worth more than they paid
  • Texte original · AnglaisStrong soundtrack and a fast, chaotic, adrenaline-heavy feel that several players call an underrated gem

Ce que les joueurs critiquent

  • Texte original · AnglaisOnline co-op is unreliable: players report failing to connect over half the time, desyncs, and in 2026 reviews it is described as hard to get working
  • Texte original · AnglaisCo-op design gripes: in online lobbies only the host can customise a character while the guest waits
  • Texte original · AnglaisRepetition: only four level themes, rooms, weapons and bosses can feel alike over long sessions
  • Texte original · AnglaisEnemies are spongy on Hard, slowing the pace; some find enemies spawning underneath them cheap
  • Texte original · AnglaisProgression is seen as minor and mostly stat upgrades (health, etc.) rather than changing how you play; some upgrades are barely noticeable, like the blink invulnerability
  • Texte original · AnglaisWeapon drops are random, and some runs go long stretches with nothing good
  • Texte original · AnglaisStability issues reported by some: a top-upvoted negative review reports consistent crashes shortly after launch; Steam forum topics mention black-screen crashes, Steam Deck and Linux audio problems
  • Texte original · AnglaisSome reviewers find it short and, for solo play, outclassed by better action roguelites

Caractéristiques distinctives

  • Texte original · AnglaisEvery stage is a page of a comic book, with rooms as panels and chapters as issues, tied into a story about a creator who has lost faith in his hero
  • Texte original · AnglaisInk is both the currency dropped by enemies and the thing you spend on upgrades
  • Texte original · AnglaisCombo meter tied to survival: a whole run on one continuous combo is a stated challenge, and heat increases damage and healing drops
  • Texte original · AnglaisFull customisation: players can change every difficulty setting, remap every button and design their character's look
  • Texte original · AnglaisHard is the default, with Easy mode locking leaderboards and achievements, plus harder modes and a secret final level unlocked later
  • Texte original · AnglaisRoguelite with light grinding until the late secret final level, blended with old-school Contra-style run-and-gun

Points qui divisent

  • Texte original · AnglaisDifficulty: Hard default is praised as challenging-but-fair by some and as spongy, tedious and unfair by others
  • Texte original · AnglaisArt style: some enjoy the personality of the paper cut-out comic look; Gameblog.fr called the art direction insipid, and one reviewer admits he dislikes games that look like flash games (though he ended up recommending it)
  • Texte original · AnglaisValue: many call it a steal on sale, while a couple of reviewers say it is not worth full price and is better with a friend than solo
  • Texte original · AnglaisProgression depth: some find upgrades motivating and enough to keep playing; others find them too minor to matter

Répétition et contraintes

  • Texte original · AnglaisHard-mode enemy sponginess and tiptoeing around damage makes some runs feel slow and tedious
  • Texte original · AnglaisEarly-game low-level runs feel very hard before upgrades make it easy (one reviewer likens it to Destiny: the game starts at full level)
  • Texte original · AnglaisUpgrade grinding is called a grind by some, and the secret final level surprised and frustrated a reviewer
  • Texte original · AnglaisRepetitive bosses, which one reviewer summarises as jumping around and shooting
  • Texte original · AnglaisConnecting to online co-op is a hassle, sometimes harder than playing the game
  • Texte original · AnglaisBasic for genre veterans: one top negative review says anyone who plays a lot of roguelikes will get bored of it

Améliorations espérées

  • Texte original · AnglaisFix and modernise online co-op connectivity and sync, and let guests customise their own characters
  • Texte original · AnglaisAdd more level themes, enemy types and boss variety to reduce sameness
  • Texte original · AnglaisDeeper meta-progression: unlocks that change playstyle rather than small stat bumps
  • Texte original · AnglaisRebalance enemy health on the default Hard difficulty to keep pacing brisk
  • Texte original · AnglaisSmoother Switch performance (Nintendo Life cited framerate issues) and better Steam Deck/Linux support
  • Texte original · AnglaisMore reliable weapon availability per run so a run is not dead for long stretches

Texte original · AnglaisMetacritic lists PC, PS4, Xbox One, Switch and iOS versions. PC Metascore is 79 from 9 reviews (90% positive, 10% mixed, 0% negative) and the all-platform page shows 76 from 10, with user score 7.5 from 31 ratings. Steam sample: 87% positive of about 2,900 reviews, with a SteamSpy owner estimate of 20k-50k and a steam-revenue-calculator estimate near $125k gross (order-of-magnitude only, Boxleiter method). Steam lists release May 8, 2020, no early-access history was found on the store page, and the developer describes five years of polish. Price is $19.99 but heavily discounted often. Recent (2025-2026) Steam reviews still praise it as a cheap, fun game but increasingly flag broken or hard-to-use online co-op. The Steam forum has an active bug-report thread, Discord, and topics about Steam Deck, Linux audio and crashes. Note: the orchestrator's listed year of 2017 conflicts with the Steam date; Steam release 2020 is what the data shows, and an earlier 2017 date could reflect development/Kickstarter stage but was not verified. The OpenCritic page and Reddit could not be checked (web search budget exhausted; Reddit fetch blocked).

Texte original · AnglaisTier list Part 1 (2023)

Texte original · AnglaisFury Unleashed is a flashy, comic-book-framed action roguelike with big guns and explosions against Nazis, aliens and monsters. He loves the meta-story about a tired comic writer, which turns emotional and feels personal to the developer. Individual runs get repetitive because guns feel alike and there are no unique run-altering abilities. He treats it as more of a campaign-like experience that he finished once in about 10 hours, and he places it around the middle of the board without naming a tier letter.

Ce que le créateur apprécie

  • Texte original · AnglaisSurprisingly heartwarming, emotional story framed as a comic book writer's tale, told through emails
  • Texte original · AnglaisAwesome bosses
  • Texte original · AnglaisGreat music and art
  • Texte original · AnglaisFlashy, explosive gunplay with big guns
  • Texte original · AnglaisBest story-to-gameplay ratio on the list
  • Texte original · AnglaisFun for roughly a 10 hour playthrough

Problèmes relevés par le créateur

  • Texte original · AnglaisRuns get very repetitive
  • Texte original · AnglaisMany guns but they feel fairly similar to one another
  • Texte original · AnglaisNo unique abilities found during runs, so runs do not feel different
  • Texte original · AnglaisPlays like a one-and-done campaign with little reason to return

Observations sur la conception

  • Texte original · AnglaisThe whole game is framed as a comic book being written by a burnt-out writer, with an emotional real-feeling meta narrative
  • Texte original · AnglaisStory strength is unusually high relative to the gameplay depth
