Synthèse des discussions
Texte original · AnglaisA gothic pixel-art auto-battler survivors-like where you play a necromancer who raises and merges undead minions that do the fighting while you dodge and collect bones.
Texte original · AnglaisSteam reception is Overwhelmingly Positive (about 96% of roughly 5,400 reviews) for a $4.99 game from solo-ish studio caiysware, with praise centred on sheer content volume, minion-centric build variety, chiptune music and dark humour. Critics coverage is sparse: Metacritic lists the game with no Metascore yet (awaiting 4 critic reviews) and a 7.1 user score from only 12 ratings, and no OpenCritic entry turned up. Indie blogs (GamingOnLinux, a Substack review) were warm, with GamingOnLinux calling it a favourite and Steam Deck Verified. Negative reviews are a small minority but are highly consistent: the visuals are cluttered and hard on the eyes, and mechanics/tooltips are poorly explained. The game left early access and has kept receiving content updates well past 1.0, per player reviews.
Ce que les joueurs apprécient
- Texte original · AnglaisHuge amount of content for the price: many classes, minion types, relics, spells and bosses; one player reports around 85 hours to 100 percent it
- Texte original · AnglaisMinion-centric gameplay feels distinct from Vampire Survivors: your army does the fighting, and combining/mutating minions is rarely seen elsewhere
- Texte original · AnglaisDeep, layered meta progression with a deliberate drip-feed of unlocks that keeps runs feeling novel
- Texte original · AnglaisChiptune soundtrack widely singled out as excellent
- Texte original · AnglaisGothic pixel art and crude, innuendo-heavy dark humour give it a strong identity
- Texte original · AnglaisSecret extra modes such as a strategy card game (Clashful Cards), Castle Conquest, Architect Mode, endless and daily challenges
- Texte original · AnglaisDeveloper is passionate and keeps shipping updates after 1.0; Steam Deck Verified and runs well on Linux/Proton
- Texte original · AnglaisVery low price and few bugs reported even after 90 hours
Ce que les joueurs critiquent
- Texte original · AnglaisVisual clutter: enemies, minions, projectiles, weather and pickups blur together, making it hard to track your own character late in a run
- Texte original · AnglaisColor scheme/saturation causes eye strain or headaches for some players; a few compare it to seizure-warning territory
- Texte original · AnglaisPoor affordance design: no tooltips for spells, unclear meaning of gems and telegraphs, no way to re-check a class's strengths after a run starts
- Texte original · AnglaisText descriptions for minions and upgrades are written for flavour rather than clarity, forcing players to read multiple sentences or use external guides
- Texte original · AnglaisMinions can look like enemies and XP can look like enemy projectiles, per critical reviewers (an early comment said outlines were later added to help)
- Texte original · AnglaisSparse audio feedback for much of the on-screen action, according to one reviewer
- Texte original · AnglaisLimited control over minions, which only loosely follow you
Caractéristiques distinctives
- Texte original · AnglaisInverted fantasy: you are the necromancer under attack by heroes, and minions rather than the player deal the damage
- Texte original · AnglaisBones from slain heroes are the resource used to raise the army
- Texte original · AnglaisMinion combining/mutating upgrade system
- Texte original · AnglaisHidden upgrade effects revealed only after acquisition, encouraging discovery
- Texte original · AnglaisBundled side modes including a card game and map-hopping Castle Conquest, plus a tongue-in-cheek unlockable plumber character
- Texte original · AnglaisShares a universe/tone with the developer's other game Spirits Abyss
Points qui divisent
- Texte original · AnglaisArt style: praised as charming retro pixel art by many, dismissed as ugly and unreadable by others
- Texte original · AnglaisDifficulty: some find it too easy after meta progression, others find early runs unfair or unplayable
- Texte original · AnglaisInfo density: some enjoy the discovery and depth, others find the mechanics opaque and exhausting
Répétition et contraintes
- Texte original · AnglaisReading dense upgrade text and puzzling out systems every level-up
- Texte original · AnglaisEverything can be unlocked within a few hours for some players, after which runs feel like free wins
- Texte original · AnglaisRepetitive loop once build variety is exhausted; some say if you have played one survivors-like you have played them all
- Texte original · AnglaisSlow, small-feeling start and a few runs needed before options open up
- Texte original · AnglaisCompletionist tasks such as the achievements monument are off-putting to some
Améliorations espérées
- Texte original · AnglaisClearer readability: stronger player/minion/enemy/pickup differentiation and options to reduce effects and saturation
- Texte original · AnglaisBetter tutorial and in-run info: tooltips for spells, a class summary screen, clearer minion upgrade/merge rules
- Texte original · AnglaisPlainer, more concise upgrade text instead of roleplay-style descriptions
- Texte original · AnglaisMore build variety and bosses to sustain interest after the first wins
- Texte original · AnglaisRebalanced difficulty curve, since meta progression makes the game far easier as you unlock everything
- Texte original · AnglaisMore distinct character classes (a recurring complaint in sentiment summaries)
Texte original · AnglaisLaunched in early access in 2022 (GamingOnLinux wrote it up in Aug 2022 when it was about $1.99) and hit 1.0 on Mar 9, 2023 at $4.99; it was included in a Humble survivors-like bundle around then. Positive sentiment has held and steady content updates continue (Steam reviews dated into 2026 mention ongoing additions). Windows only on Steam; Steam Deck Verified and runs on Linux via Proton. A separate soundtrack DLC exists. Metacritic page exists with a 'tbd' Metascore and a 7.1 user score from 12 ratings. Players with under 2 hours are far more negative (about 10 percent positive per VaporLens), suggesting the opening and readability are the main barrier.

Texte original · AnglaisTier list Part 1 (2023)
Texte original · AnglaisBoneraiser Minions is a top-down, single-level roguelike where you play a weak necromancer with no abilities of your own and instead raise minions to fight for you. Despite its simple look, the hub world is packed with upgrades and things to buy, letting you customise the level, traps, enemies, minions, the necromancer and spells. He bounced off it at first because of information overload, but after sticking with it found it fun and chaotic. He places it in a solid B tier, just above 20 Minutes Till Dawn.
Ce que le créateur apprécie
- Texte original · AnglaisHuge amount of content and customisation for a game that looks so simple
- Texte original · AnglaisHub world offers many upgrades covering levels, traps, enemies, minions, the necromancer and spells
- Texte original · AnglaisSeeing the wild minion builds and combinations for the first time is amazing
- Texte original · AnglaisFeels like a campaign mode: a great experience while discovering everything
- Texte original · AnglaisRecommends it to players who want to see some chaos
- Texte original · AnglaisSurprised him positively overall
Problèmes relevés par le créateur
- Texte original · AnglaisInitial information overload and too many things to buy made it off-putting at first
- Texte original · AnglaisBuilds always converge to the same final form (vegetable, demon, zombie), so late-game builds are only novel once
- Texte original · AnglaisOnce everything is seen you are done; theoretically short at roughly 15 hours
- Texte original · AnglaisLooks unremarkable at first glance
Observations sur la conception
- Texte original · AnglaisPlayer has no abilities; all power comes from raised minions
- Texte original · AnglaisCustomisation depth reaches even enemies, traps and level layout, unusual for this kind of game
- Texte original · AnglaisReplay structure resembles a campaign: discover builds once, then you are finished
