Pourquoi cette note ?

Texte original · Chinois simplifié

以预览和战前改牌提高玩家主动权,构筑与回合顺序紧密相连;复杂术语与忙碌界面是主要学习阻力。

01

Mécaniques de jeu essentielles

Pondération 25 %8,5 / 10
Texte original · Chinois simplifié

留牌、清除换能量和延后结算威胁使出牌顺序有持续的决策价值;多种近似术语使最初几局不容易进入节奏。

02

Combinaisons et stratégie

Pondération 25 %9,0 / 10
Texte original · Chinois simplifié

战前换牌与虚空石改造允许针对具体敌人重新配置,构筑会随路线调整;固定牌数也限制了极薄牌库等路线。

03

Rejouabilité

Pondération 20 %8,0 / 10
Texte original · Chinois simplifié

职业、起始牌组和挑战条件改变资源管理方式,战前调整让重复敌人仍可有不同解法;部分资深反馈认为遭遇惊喜不足。

04

Hasard et équité

Pondération 20 %8,5 / 10
Texte original · Chinois simplifié

可预览敌人与路线,坏牌可换能量,威胁数值给出反应窗口,主动规避运气的手段充分;结算规则仍有反直觉之处。

05

Finition et ergonomie

Pondération 10 %7,0 / 10
Texte original · Chinois simplifié

威胁显示和可随时换牌有助于计划,但术语拥挤、心算负担和手柄界面问题在快照中反复出现,易用性尚有明显空间。

Synthèse des discussions

Texte original · AnglaisA roguelike deckbuilder from Spider Nest Games built around planning and player agency: fixed 20-card decks, full map vision, deck swaps between fights, and Void Stone card upgrades.

Texte original · AnglaisPlayers rate it Very Positive on Steam (about 92% of roughly 3,000 reviews locally, 93% on the store page), and a loud minority of genre veterans call it their favourite deckbuilder, often ahead of Slay the Spire and Monster Train. Praise centres on control over RNG, build variety and depth. Critics have barely covered it: Metacritic holds one listed review (God is a Geek, 70/100) and no aggregate score. The main complaint is front-loaded complexity, a weak tutorial and a busy UI, so it is seen as a deep cut for experienced players rather than an entry point. It left Early Access (Nov 2020) for 1.0 on Oct 4 2022, then added a new class and kept updating: a Nightmare update, a Halloween update mentioned by reviewers, and The Weaver DLC on Oct 30 2025 (87% positive, 62 reviews). Mobile ports (iOS, Android) and a Switch listing exist. Steam-revenue-calculator estimates about $1.5M gross and $444k net (Boxleiter-style, not audited).

Ce que les joueurs apprécient

  • Texte original · AnglaisHigh agency over randomness: full map visibility, intent shown before enemies act, and control over draw order and card rewards
  • Texte original · AnglaisSwapping cards in and out of your deck between fights, so builds can be tuned and rethought constantly
  • Texte original · AnglaisFour classes plus a DLC class, each with three distinct starting decks and spells, so runs feel different from the first fight
  • Texte original · AnglaisRetain and purge/energy systems that reward sequencing and turn-order planning
  • Texte original · AnglaisLarge content pool: 440+ cards, 320+ artifacts, Void Stone upgrades, and 50 challenge coins with modifier-based and goofy empowered runs
  • Texte original · AnglaisScalable difficulty, including a customisable Impossible mode, which fans of hard Slay the Spire ascensions enjoy
  • Texte original · AnglaisCross-save between platforms, singled out by players as underrated
  • Texte original · AnglaisReviewers say it is polished and more fleshed out than a Slay the Spire clone; one calls it a quiet technical pleasure with lots of depth
  • Texte original · AnglaisRepeatedly called an underrated hidden gem that gets buried on Steam and rarely appears on best-of-genre lists

Ce que les joueurs critiquent

  • Texte original · AnglaisSteep learning curve: around 20 mechanics arrive at once and the tutorial explains them poorly (discard vs purge vs exhaust is a common confusion)
  • Texte original · AnglaisBusy UI with heavy mental arithmetic, which some find hurts readability
  • Texte original · AnglaisMechanics feel more complicated than necessary just to be different from Slay the Spire (negative reviewers' view)
  • Texte original · AnglaisMandatory 20-card deck and near-mandatory starter cards prevent thin-deck strategies and make starter cards hard to drop
  • Texte original · AnglaisKilled enemies still deal their damage until the whole fight ends, which players find counter-intuitive
  • Texte original · AnglaisTheme, plot and art are described as generic or bog-standard, with only serviceable visuals
  • Texte original · AnglaisSteam Deck and controller bugs reported, including missing map art, invisible portraits and audio dropouts
  • Texte original · AnglaisSome translation, typo and crash or save-recovery threads on the Steam forum
  • Texte original · AnglaisSeveral reviewers, including players past Impossible 20+, find it solid but unexciting or lacking variety, and prefer Slay the Spire or Monster Train

Caractéristiques distinctives

  • Texte original · AnglaisFixed 20-card deck that you can restructure between every fight, instead of an ever-growing deck
  • Texte original · AnglaisRetained cards can be deleted for energy or mana on later turns
  • Texte original · AnglaisFull map vision plus enemy previews before battle, reducing hidden-information gambles
  • Texte original · AnglaisVoid Stones and runes inserted into cards as a customisation layer, alongside potions, relics and spells
  • Texte original · AnglaisReset-fight option to brute-force a puzzle or undo a mistake
  • Texte original · AnglaisThe Weaver DLC class commands a team of 25+ pets across five slots with Weave and Unravel mechanics

Points qui divisent

  • Texte original · AnglaisComplexity: fans call it depth and a rewarding puzzle, detractors call it needless and unintuitive
  • Texte original · AnglaisDeck-swapping and heavy agency: praised as fixing RNG frustrations, disliked as removing tension and adding micromanagement
  • Texte original · AnglaisArt and theme: some rate the art style good to great while others call the presentation generic

Répétition et contraintes

  • Texte original · AnglaisLearning the dense keyword system in the first runs, which some bounced off (several recommend the free demo first)
  • Texte original · AnglaisConstant deck micromanagement between fights, which some players find unappealing
  • Texte original · AnglaisMental maths and planning overhead on every turn
  • Texte original · AnglaisStarter-card dependence makes deck-building feel less free than in Slay the Spire
  • Texte original · AnglaisBare Bones challenge coin called out as the one unfun piece even by a 200-hour fan

Améliorations espérées

  • Texte original · AnglaisA better tutorial that introduces keywords gradually and explains the core mechanics in depth
  • Texte original · AnglaisA cleaner, less cluttered UI with clearer numbers and names
  • Texte original · AnglaisFixes for Steam Deck and controller compatibility bugs
  • Texte original · AnglaisMore language support and localisation fixes (forum requests)
  • Texte original · AnglaisClearer item and ability descriptions (forum reports on Zeal tree confusion and an equipment misrepresentation bug)
  • Texte original · AnglaisSome fans single out the Bare Bones challenge coin as unfun, suggesting balance tuning

Texte original · AnglaisEarly Access launched Nov 20 2020; 1.0 released Oct 4 2022 on Steam (Windows, Mac) and listed on iOS, Android and Switch. Steam user reception stayed Very Positive throughout and was 90% positive over the last 30 days (only 10 reviews, so low current volume; about 28 concurrent players in local data). Critic coverage is thin: Metacritic has one review (70/100) and no aggregate, and I found no OpenCritic page (search returned 404). The developer kept supporting it: a Nightmare update, a Halloween update players were awaiting, and The Weaver DLC (Oct 30 2025, 90+ cards, 50+ artifacts, 3 challenge coins). Note: the web search budget ran out during this task, so community detail comes from Steam reviews, the Steam forum and Steam store pages, and I could not read Reddit (fetch blocked) or the God is a Geek review text (403).

Texte original · AnglaisTier list Part 1 (2023)

Texte original · AnglaisVault of the Void is a deck-building roguelike with an unusual stress-meter mechanic, where managing stress matters as much as health and higher stress brings more enemies. PepperHead says plainly that he did not like it, even though it has very positive reviews and he has played a lot of deckbuilders. He found the gameplay boring and the art and environments unappealing, and felt the game did not feel alive during card fights. He played about 10 hours and concedes that more time with different card combinations might have changed his view. He places it in high D tier and stresses that D tier means not for him rather than a bad game.

Ce que le créateur apprécie

  • Texte original · AnglaisHas a unique gimmick in the stress meter, which adds a resource to manage besides health
  • Texte original · AnglaisPretty unique design choices overall
  • Texte original · AnglaisAcknowledges the very positive reviews and that the game may be good for others
  • Texte original · AnglaisConcedes that discovering different card combinations might make it more interesting

Problèmes relevés par le créateur

  • Texte original · AnglaisGameplay felt boring to him
  • Texte original · AnglaisArt style disliked
  • Texte original · AnglaisFights and the card board felt lifeless and not visually interesting
  • Texte original · AnglaisWorld environment not visually pleasing
  • Texte original · AnglaisStress mechanic is complicated to explain and the game is complex, which contributed to it not clicking

Observations sur la conception

  • Texte original · AnglaisStress meter mechanic: stress is managed like health, and higher stress means more enemies to find
  • Texte original · AnglaisDeckbuilder with unusual design choices that set it apart from other genre entries

Texte original · AnglaisTier list Part 2 (2024)

Texte original · AnglaisVault of the Void is a fairly standard deck-building roguelike that he re-evaluated after playing it longer. He originally tried it for a few hours, disliked it and placed it in C tier, but viewer comments and his own deck-building design video research pushed him to revisit it. He now finds it really solid, with a lot of content and replayability. He moves it up to A tier (described as low A), admitting he was wrong before.

Ce que le créateur apprécie

  • Texte original · AnglaisVery solid, well-executed core deck-building loop
  • Texte original · AnglaisLots of small mechanical details that make moment-to-moment play interesting
  • Texte original · AnglaisLarge amount of content: many cards and artifacts
  • Texte original · AnglaisHigh replayability
  • Texte original · AnglaisHas its own vibe despite similarity to Slay the Spire
  • Texte original · AnglaisOne of the few deck builders without unique gimmicks that still succeeds just by doing the basics well

Problèmes relevés par le créateur

  • Texte original · AnglaisLacks really unique mechanics, which is normally risky for deck builders due to Slay the Spire comparisons
  • Texte original · AnglaisFairly similar to Slay the Spire in some aspects
  • Texte original · AnglaisHis first impression was poor, suggesting it may not hook players quickly (he partly blames his own mood and short playtime)

Observations sur la conception

  • Texte original · AnglaisSucceeds through execution and content volume rather than a novel hook
  • Texte original · AnglaisDesign lesson: a game does not always need long playtime to be good, but some games reward giving them more time, and timing/mood affects judgment

Avis actualisé

Texte original · AnglaisRe-evaluation of a past game: previously placed in C tier on his last tier list after a few hours; after playing more he moves it up to a low A tier.
